Operation method
Process demonstration for condensation-type silicone, using simply patterned small handicrafts as samples:
① Mix silicone and curing agent at 100:2–2.5, stir evenly.
② Degas the mixed silicone in a vacuum chamber to avoid bubbles and ensure smooth mold surfaces. Without vacuum equipment, bubbles can rise naturally by prolonging curing time, yet the result will not be ideal.
③ Coat the master mold and mold frame with Vaseline. Fix the master in the center, slowly pour degassed silicone into the frame to fully cover the prototype, then leave to cure.
④ Demold after full silicone curing, and trim rough edges of the silicone mold.
⑤ It is recommended to age the silicone mold for 24 hours prior to use to obtain the best molding performance.
Precautions
① Mix silicone and curing agent fully and evenly to prevent uncured spots.
② Finish using the mixed liquid silicone within the pot life to ensure stable molding performance.
③ Coat glass, ceramic and painted prototypes evenly with shampoo or soapy water solution. Pour or brush silicone after water evaporation to achieve effortless demolding.
④ Do not let addition silicone and condensation silicone contact each other, which will cause silicone poisoning and curing failure.
⑤ Keep addition silicone away from water, impurities, organotin catalysts, acids, alkalis, and N/P/S-containing compounds to avoid non-curing issues.
